Tramway Networks as Route Graphs

The purpose of this paper is threefold: (1) to show a methodology for introducing formality step-by-step, starting from a “light-weight” ontology, (2) to apply it to the generic Route Graph model, instantiated here to Tramway Networks, and (3) to demonstrate that separation of concerns into layers of abstraction and application of generic formal notions such as graph abstraction lead to a usefu...

Improved construction for universality of determinant and permanent

Valiant (1979) proved that every polynomial of formula size e is a projection of the (e+ 2)× (e+ 2) determinant polynomial. We improve “e+ 2” to “e+ 1”, also for a definition of formula size that does not count multiplications by constants as gates. Our proof imitates the “2e+ 2” proof of von zur Gathen (1987), but uses different invariants and a tighter set of base cases.

Recent developments in forest traffic way construction in Slovenia

Nacrtak After a decade of regression in forest engineering a distinct increase in skidding trail construction and intentional revival of road constructions in state forests have occurred since the year 2000. In this paper novelties and trends in forest traffic way construction in Slovenia are described. Improved procedures for operational road planning and integration of forest traffic ways int...

On the Ultramean Construction

We use the ultramean construction to prove linear compactness theorem. We also extend the Rudin-Keisler ordering to maximal probability charges and characterize it by embeddings of power ultrameans.
